Privacy Policy

Effective September 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Miche Ventures LLC (“Miche Ventures,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the Ourlume mobile application (“Ourlume” or the “App”). Ourlume Version 1 is designed around data minimization and local-device storage.

This policy applies to the non-AI, local-storage version of Ourlume. If we later introduce optional accounts, cloud synchronization, AI features, or subscription services that change how information is handled, we will update this policy and provide appropriate notice before those features process information under the new model.

01

Ourlume Does Not Require an Ourlume Account

Ourlume Version 1 does not require you to create an account with Miche Ventures. Your purchase or download may be associated with your Apple App Store or Google Play account, but those platform accounts are provided and managed by Apple or Google, not by Miche Ventures.

02

Private Content Is Stored on Your Device

Ourlume is designed so that private content you create in the App is stored locally on your device rather than transmitted to or stored on Miche Ventures servers. This may include:

  • responses to conversation questions
  • journal entries
  • private notes and reflections
  • saved or favorited content and related local preferences

Miche Ventures does not receive, read, or maintain copies of this private content on its servers in Version 1.

03

Device Backups and Operating-System Services

Although Miche Ventures does not upload your private Ourlume content to its own servers, your device operating system may include application data in device backups or other platform services depending on your settings and the technical configuration of those services. Apple and Google control their own backup and platform services. Their handling of information is governed by their own privacy policies and settings.

We intend to configure Ourlume to minimize unnecessary cloud transfer of private content. Before each release, we will verify the actual iOS and Android backup behavior and update this policy if needed.

04

Information We Do Not Intend to Collect in Version 1

Ourlume Version 1 is designed not to collect or transmit the following information to Miche Ventures:

  • your Ourlume journal entries, question responses, or private notes
  • precise or approximate device location
  • your contacts or address book
  • photos, videos, microphone recordings, or camera content
  • health, financial, or government-identification information
  • advertising identifiers for cross-app advertising
  • payment-card numbers or banking credentials
05

Payments and App-Store Information

Purchases are processed by Apple or Google through their respective app stores. Miche Ventures does not directly receive your full payment-card number from those platforms. Apple or Google may provide transaction, purchase-status, tax, refund, or aggregate sales information needed to operate the business and validate access to paid functionality. Their processing is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

06

Diagnostics and Analytics

Our intended Version 1 release does not include third-party advertising or behavioral-analytics SDKs. Apple, Google, the operating system, or the app-distribution platform may provide developers with limited diagnostics, crash information, performance information, or aggregated store analytics under the user’s platform settings and the platform’s own policies.

If we later add an analytics, crash-reporting, or similar SDK that causes Ourlume to collect or transmit additional user or device data, we will evaluate the change, update our disclosures as required, and revise this Privacy Policy before or when the change becomes effective.

07

Notifications

Ourlume may offer optional reminders or notifications. Where technically practical, Version 1 should use local, on-device notifications so that reminder content does not need to be transmitted through Miche Ventures systems. You can control notification permission in your device settings. We recommend avoiding sensitive relationship details in notification text.

08

How We Use Information We Receive

To the limited extent Miche Ventures receives information from an app store, platform, support request, or other direct communication, we may use it to:

  • provide and maintain Ourlume
  • respond to support or privacy questions
  • verify purchases or troubleshoot access issues
  • identify crashes, security issues, or technical problems
  • comply with legal obligations and protect our rights

We do not sell personal information. We do not use Ourlume private content for advertising, profiling, or AI training because Miche Ventures does not receive that private content in Version 1.

09

Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal information. We may disclose limited information that we actually possess to service providers that help us operate the business, to Apple or Google as necessary for app distribution and purchase administration, or when required by law, legal process, security needs, or the protection of rights. Any service provider we use should receive only the information reasonably needed for its role.

10

Retention

Private Ourlume content stored only on your device is retained according to your use of the App and your device settings; Miche Ventures cannot retain or delete a server copy that it does not possess. Business records we legitimately receive, such as support correspondence or transaction-related records, may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for support, accounting, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or enforcement of agreements.

11

Deleting Ourlume Data

Because Version 1 does not use an Ourlume account, there is no Miche Ventures account to delete. Ourlume should provide an in-app control to erase locally stored Ourlume content from the device. Uninstalling the App generally removes locally stored application data from the device, subject to operating-system backups and restoration behavior outside Miche Ventures’ control.

If you have contacted us for support and want to ask whether Miche Ventures holds information associated with that interaction, contact us at tim@micheventures.com. We will respond consistent with applicable law.

12

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the information we handle. The Version 1 architecture reduces risk by keeping private relationship content on the user’s device. We also recommend providing an optional device-authentication lock, such as Face ID, Touch ID, or the Android device-authentication mechanism, where supported.

No storage or security method can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their devices, passcodes, backups, and operating-system accounts.

13

Age Restriction

Ourlume is intended for adults age 18 and older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly design Version 1 to collect personal information from children.

14

International Users

Ourlume may be made available in more than one country. The Version 1 local-storage design limits the personal information transmitted to Miche Ventures. If applicable privacy law gives you rights concerning information that Miche Ventures actually holds about you, you may contact us using the information below.

15

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Ourlume changes, when our practices change, or when legal or platform requirements change. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when appropriate. A future version that introduces Ourlume accounts, cloud storage, AI processing, or materially different data practices will require revised disclosures.
